WORK WITH DR. WAGNER

Clinical Practice

Clinical psychology can provide support and perspective when life changes challenge how we understand ourselves, our relationships, and what comes next. Therapy offers a place to step outside the immediacy of those experiences, understand what you are navigating, and begin to find perspective within the transition.

CLINICAL PRACTICE

A Space to Understand What You're Navigating

Therapy can create the space to look more closely at what is happening—not only at the immediate challenge, but at the experiences, relationships, patterns, and changes that may be shaping how we understand and respond to it.

People often seek therapy when something in life no longer feels as it once did. A relationship may be changing. A loss, illness, betrayal, family challenge, or new stage of life may disrupt familiar expectations. Sometimes the change is clear; other times, what feels different can be much harder to identify.

Therapy offers an opportunity to explore these experiences within the context of the individual, couple, or family. Dr. Wagner works with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as couples and families, bringing attention to how past experiences, present circumstances, relationships, developmental stages, and patterns of responding intersect with what is happening now.

The goal is not simply to make a difficult experience disappear. Greater understanding can create perspective, open new possibilities for responding, and help children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigate change in ways that are more thoughtful, intentional, and responsive to what they are experiencing.

WHEN LIFE CHANGES

When It Helps to Have Someone Alongside You

Changes and challenges can affect more than one part of our lives. They can reshape relationships, roles, expectations, identity, and our sense of what comes next. Therapy can provide a place to understand those changes, whether they are affecting a child, adolescent, adult, couple, or family, and begin to find a way forward.

Relationships & Family

Relationships can be sources of connection and support, but they can also become places of conflict, uncertainty, or profound change. Therapy can help explore changing partnerships, relationships between parents and children, family dynamics, caregiving roles, and the patterns that shape how family members relate to one another.

Life Changes & Transitions

Changes in health, work, relationships, family responsibilities, school, development, or stage of life can unsettle what once felt familiar. Therapy offers space to understand both the change itself and the transition that follows as individuals and families adapt to circumstances they may not have anticipated or chosen.

Identity, Loss & What Comes Next

Loss and change can alter how we understand ourselves as well as the life around us. Therapy can help explore what has been disrupted or left behind, what remains important, and how your sense of identity, meaning, and possibility may evolve.

THE WORK

Understanding Creates Perspective

Understanding does not change what has happened, but it can change how we experience it. Therapy creates an opportunity to look beyond the immediate problem and develop a fuller understanding of what is happening and the experiences, relationships, and circumstances surrounding it.

Dr. Wagner’s approach is grounded in the belief that our responses to life’s challenges rarely exist in isolation. They are shaped by our histories, relationships, expectations, stages of development, ways of understanding ourselves and one another, and the circumstances in which change occurs.

The work begins by exploring what is being experienced and the context surrounding it. As patterns and connections become clearer, what initially feels confusing or overwhelming may begin to make more sense.

That understanding can create perspective. Over time, therapy can open different possibilities for responding, support more intentional choices, and help individuals, couples, and families integrate changes into a developing understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the lives they are moving toward.
